Golden Grove

To sympathetically replace a vacant public house and ancillary residential accommodation with two replacement dwellings in the Wrexham Area of Special Landscape and Green Barrier Designation.

The client purchased the property with intention of demolishing the rundown vacant premises and constructing two luxury contemporary houses to provide desirable homes for the wider market.

Full planning permission was achieved to demolish the detached character public house and linked outbuilding living accommodation, and to replace with two large detached dwellings having a similar overall scale and massing with increased 17% floor area.

Whilst challenges were met with high water tables requiring the dwellings to be lifted, the development remains respectful to openness of the countryside and acknowledges the former character and rooflines.

Our design and layout makes full use of the contouring of the land to maximise height and functional use of accommodation whilst complementing the panoramic view.
