Chorlton House

To sympathetically replace a detached main dwelling house and extend gate keepers lodge in the Chester Green Belt.

The client purchased the property with intention to remodel, refurbish and extend both the existing main dwelling house and adjacent lodge to provide more desirable accommodation better suited to modern-day living.

Full planning permission was achieved to increase volume of both the existing main house and lodge by 60% in the green belt.

A further application was made and approved by the planners to support demolishing and relocating the main house in the grounds away from the lodge and neighbouring property.

The project comprised building a new two-storey main dwelling house with room-in-the-roof sleeping accommodation and basement containing swimming pool, gym, game rooms and underground parking. Its appearance is of Georgian style to the frontage in keeping with its surroundings and contemporary at the rear to provide contrast and light.

The single-story lodge was extended and modernised with additional room-in-the-roof sleeping accommodation and increased sized reception rooms and kitchen.
